A grassroots, community-led project to create a permanent pedestrian plaza at the heart of Queen Anne.

Map It

Where is it located?

The future Crockett Plaza is located on the half block between Queen Anne Avenue and the alley to the west, between Menchie’s and Big Max Burgers.

Meh.

Better.

Why Crockett Street?

We tried it already…and people loved it.

It is at the confluence of public life on Queen Anne.

We have already decided this is a special place, a fact that’s reflected in the built environment.

  • There are no driveways

  • It’s not a freight route

  • It’s not a transit route

  • It’s not an arterial

  • It’s not a through-route for cars

  • Adjacent buildings are occupied 24 hours per day, providing “eyes on the street.”

Why don’t kids play outside anymore?

Look at the outside we built…

Cities around the world are putting pedestrian streets at the center of neighborhoods.
